Latest state Fish and Wildlife Lower Columbia salmon catches

Here is another fact related to the massive Columbia River salmon by Joe Hymer, a state Fish and Wildlife biologist:

Last week on the Lower Columbia, anglers made 10,927 trips and caught 2,219 adult Chinook (1,987 kept and 232 released) 659 adult coho (421 kept and 238 released) and 46 summer steelhead (26 kept and 20 released).  Just under half of the Chinook were caught in the Columbia gorge.
