The upcoming coastal razor clam digs start Tuesday (Nov. 4) at Long Beach and Twin Harbors, and should be excellent if the weather doesn’t blow diggers off the beaches.
Digging will be open Tuesday (Nov. 4) through Nov. 11 at Long Beach and Twin Harbors; Nov. 7-9 at Mocrocks; and Nov. 8 at Copalis. Digging is allowed from noon to midnight each day.
Coast-wide a total of 4,500 digger trips Oct. 24-28 took home 51,500 clams for an average of 11.4 clams per person (the first 15 dug regardless of size or condition is a daily limit). That compares to Oct. 7-12 when 23,100 diggers dug up 291,000 clams for an average of 12.6 clams per person.
Additional digs are also planned through Dec. 31, and more will be scheduled after the New Year. Details: http://seattletimes.com/html/outdoors/2024637507_outnotes28xml.html.
