The final days of the Puget Sound winter Dungeness crab season have arrived with the fishery closing at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31.
Sport anglers are then required to record their catch reports via mail or online whether you caught crab or not by Feb. 1. Those who don’t submit their information will receive a $10 fine when they purchase their 2015 crab endorsement.
Puget Sound marine areas will be closed to recreational crabbing until summer 2015.
The catch data collected by state Fish and Wildlife is important in setting future fishing seasons.
