Kayak anglers hook into nice trout at American Lake

(Brad Hole lifts a nice triploid rainbow trout he caught at American Lake on New Years Day.)

Brad Hole of Ballard and owner of Kayak Fishing Washington headed south to American Lake in Pierce County to celebrate the New Year on Thursday, and came back home with some good results.

“My buddy and I got out on American Lake, and pulled in a couple of lunker triploids,” he said.

Hole reported losing three trout, and taking home one that measured 23 inches. His fishing partner John Jackson also got one that taped out at 21 inches long.

“I’ve read a few good reports there the past couple of weeks, including an 8 pounder John got there a few weeks ago,” Hole said. “A couple of nice slabs to ring in the New Year!”
