Roche Harbor Salmon Classic produces 147 hatchery chinook during the two-day event

The Roche Harbor Salmon Classic held this past Friday and Saturday produced a total of 147 fish for 338 anglers in 99 boats.

The weather was less than ideal, but anglers managed to find fish with 84 weighed-in on Friday and 63 coming to the scale on Saturday.

The first place hatchery chinook worth $10,000 went to Dave Reep of Mount Vernon with a 22.3 pound fish.

A close second was Eric Reynolds of Snohomish with a 21.13 worth $5,000; third was Michael Surdyk of Bellingham with a 19.6 woth $3,000; fourth was Craig Haugen of Bellingham with a 18.4 worth $2,000; and fifth was Jerry Thomas of Mount Vernon with a 18.3 worth $1,000.

The mystery fish for the derby worth $2,000 went to Ronald Krocker of Marysville with a 14.14 hatchery chinook. The Friday mystery fish winner was Clare Hansen of Seattle with 5.8 fish that was worth $1,000.

The best weight boat total went to Larry Surdyk, Michael Surdyk and Jason Henning of Snohomish with five fish weighing 64.3 who took home $2,000.
