LB Leroy Hill questionable; Seahawks juggle roster
RENTON — The Seahawks returned receiver Deon Butler to the roster Friday, releasing cornerback Ron Parker to provide more depth at receiver. The Seahawks only had four receivers on the 53-man roster after letting Butler go earlier this week.
The Seahawks have also informed nosetackle Hebron Fanguopo that he will be let go from the 53-man roster, creating a space Seattle likely will use to improve its depth at linebacker with Leroy Hill questionable because of a hamstring injury.
Cornerback Walter Thurmond will miss his third consecutive game because of a strained hamstring, and coach Pete Carroll was not optimistic that he will be able to return in time for the first playoff game should Seattle appear in the wild-card round.
“It hasn’t been as smooth as we would like,” Carroll said of the recovery. “He has really been pushing and he just hasn’t been able to get out of the discomfort. With a hamstring, you’ve got to come back feeling nothing. You can’t be nursing it or you’re too vulnerable. He’s still feeling it and that’s not a good sign for this week obviously, and it’s going to be hard for him to get back next week, too, I would think.”
