Seahawks place kicker Steven Hauschka on injured reserve
RENTON — The Seahawks placed kicker Steven Hauschka on injured reserve after he suffered a strained calf in the first half of Sunday’s game. Hauschka came back to kick two field goals after suffering the injury, but the team was concerned whether he would be at full strength for this weekend’s game.
On Tuesday, the Seahawks held tryouts among kickers, agreeing to sign Ryan Longwell — a 15-year veteran who began his career in Green Bay and most recently played for Minnesota. The Vikings released Longwell after drafting kicker Blair Walsh, who made 10 field goals of 50 or more yards this season.
