Cullen Jenkins to sign with Giants; Abraham has host of suitors

Giants to add Cullen Jenkins
By Paul Schwartz | New York Post

The Giants will be adding Cullen Jenkins, a defensive lineman recently released by Philadelphia, which means the Seahawks won’t be adding Cullen Jenkins.

Don’t know how much to make of that just yet, but defensive tackle is going to be a position to watch for Seattle. Alan Branch — a starter the past two years — is an unrestricted free agent. So is Jason Jones, his backup.

Just because Seattle hasn’t re-signed Branch so far doesn’t mean the Seahawks aren’t interested in bringing him back. The issue might be price, and in these cases, it’s often the marketplace that sorts it out.

Think Red Bryant last year.

Defensive end John Abraham — who visited the Seahawks on Friday — followed that up with a visit to the San Francisco 49ers before returning to his home in Atlanta.
