Details of safety Kam Chancellor’s new contract emerged Wednesday. According to Yahoo! Sports’ Brian McIntyre, Chancellor signed a four-year extension through 2017 worth $28 million, including $17 million guaranteed.
He also received a bump in salary in 2013, which was the final year of his four-year rookie contract. Chancellor received a $5 million signing bonus, per McIntyre. McIntyre also has this bit of information: “From 2014-17, Chancellor’s cap numbers are $5.725 million (2014), $5.55 million (2015), $6.1 million (2016) and $8.125 million in 2017.”
Here are Chancellor’s base salary numbers under his new contract:
- 2013: $2.825 million
- 2014: $4.725 million
- 2015: $4.55 million
- 2016: $5.1 million
- 2017: $6.8 million
According to the NFLPA, the Seahawks have $4,698,008 in cap room this season. Those numbers, though, are often in disagreement with the numbers provided by the NFL. Mike Florio released the NFL’s cap numbers on Monday, the day the Chancellor deal was announced.
