Vegas point spreads for Seahawks game this season

A hat tip to KJR-AM host Dick Fain, who on Twitter earlier today passed along this story that includes early point spreads for every NFL game this season.

Here are the spreads for every Seahawks game listed (it doesn’t list the last game against the Rams, for whatever reason, but you’d assume the Seahawks are favored), in order — minus-3.5 means the Seahawks are favored by 3.5 points against Carolina, etc.:

Seattle Seahawks (-3.5) at Carolina Panthers

San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks (-2.5)

Jacksonville Jaguars at Seattle Seahawks (-14)

Seattle Seahawks (-1) at Houston Texans

Seattle Seahawks (-4) at Indianapolis Colts

Tennessee Titans at Seattle Seahawks (-11)

Seattle Seahawks (-6) at Arizona Cardinals

Seattle Seahawks (-4) at St. Louis Rams

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Seattle Seahawks (-7)

Seattle Seahawks at Atlanta Falcons (PK)

Minnesota Vikings at Seattle Seahawks (-6)

New Orleans Saints at Seattle Seahawks (-3.5)

Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers (-2.5)

Seattle Seahawks (-1) at New York Giants

Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks (-8.5)

As you can see, the Seahawks are favored in all but two games, listed as 2.5-point underdogs at the 49ers, and pick ’em at the Falcons.

Taken literally, that’s a 14-win season with a chance at a 15th for a team that has never before won more than 13.

Lines are not really meant to be taken literally, though, designed to try to attract equal betting action on each side, and in many ways reflecting the public perception of the two teams involved. As such, it appears the overall public perception of the Seahawks is the same as those of Seahawks fans —- the team should be pretty darn good this year.
