Here are a few more news and notes from today’s open Seahawks OTA. …
— First off, here are a few more details on the misdemeanor trespassing and obstruction charges that caused OL John Moffitt to sit out today’s workout. According to records, the incidents happened in June and August of 2012.
While official details of the incident were unavailable Tuesday, Moffitt’s agent, Mike George, called it “one of those college-type things that would happen in the movies.’’
George said Moffitt an initial charge, which according to court records occurred in June, 2012, was for urinating in public at Bellevue Square. George said the incident happened late at night and Moffitt went to a wall in back and thought he was out of view. Instead, he said a security guard happened to see it and ordered Moffitt not go to back on mall property for a year.
George said a couple months later, Moffitt went to a restaurant in a different area that Moffitt did not know was on the same property. When the security guard spotted him, George said, Moffitt was cited for trespassing.
Moffitt has another court date June 14.
— The only other player on the roster who was not there was DE Chris Clemons, continuing to rehab his knee in the Atlanta area.
— This probably wasn’t the best day ever for QB Russell Wilson, who had two passes picked off in 7-on-7 drills — one by K.J. Wright and another by Kyle Knox. He also had a couple passes batted down at the line. The interception by Wright, however, was on a pass intended for rookie tight end Luke Willson, and it appeared there was some miscommunication on the route.
— However, Wilson also threw about a 60-yard TD pass to Percy Harvin, part of what was another impressive day for Harvin, who celebrated his 25th birthday today. Harvin also pulled in an over-the-shoulder throw near the sideline from Brady Quinn on what might have been the play of the day.
— Others who did not practice today included CB Tharold Simon, OL James Carpenter, TE Cooper Helfet, WR Brett Swain, DE Cliff Avril and WR Stephen Williams, as well as DL Greg Scruggs, nursing a long-term knee injury.
