Morning kickoff — Mini-camp begins today

The Seahawks get back on the field today for the first of three mandatory mini-camp practices — the others are Wednesday and Thursday.

After Thursday, the Seahawks will then break until training camp starts, expected to be July 25 or so.

I wrote this story for the Tuesday paper looking  at some areas of the team worth watching during the three-day mini-camp.

They are hardly the only ones — and real answers to any question won’t come until training camp and the season.  But in a year like this, when expectations are what they are, everything seems to matter a little more.

For now, here are a few other  links. …

— Seahawks.com also previews mini-camp;

— Nice story in USA Today on Percy Harvin and some of the behind-the-scenes of his trade to Seattle;

Richard Sherman denied again to ESPN that he took a PED last  year;

— Seattle running backs coach Sherman Smith talked about Marshawn Lynch, Robert Turbin and the rest of the position in an interview yesterday on KJR-AM;

— CBSSports.com puts Earl Thomas on a list of players about to get paid big;

— NFL.com looks at the top mini-camp storylines for each team and says Seattle’s is getting Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett to fit in;

John Clayton said on ESPN 710 you can pretty much forget about Tarvaris Jackson returning.
