There was a lot of attention given yesterday to the news that a fan group is leading an effort to set a noise level record at CenturyLink Field when the Seahawks play the 49ers on Sept. 15.
What didn’t get as much notice was some of the details behind the attempt, such as the fact that it’s in part the brainchild of former Seahawk defensive end Joe Tafoya.
I wrote about that aspect of it in a story for the Wednesday paper.
As you can read, all of this is a little more complicated than the initial stories suggested — the attempt will likely have to be made prior to the game, and the Seahawks themselves are still a little unsure how to handle this.
But it all adds another little subplot to a 49er game that already will be regarded as one of the marquee early matchups of the NFL season.
