Monday links — Franchise player deadline today, but Seahawks have no worries

It’s just 10 days to the start of Seattle’s training camp now, and as ESPN.com’s Mike Sando notes, it is also the deadline for NFL teams to sign their Franchise Players.

But as Sando also details, it’ll be a deadline without news for teams in the NFC West, including the Seahawks, none of whom declared any franchise players this season.

The Seahawks, in fact, have not tagged a franchise player since kicker Olindo Mare in 2010.

IN OTHER NEWS. …

— Sando also offers his daily look around the division;

— And a few days ago he also examined the tight end position among the NFC West teams;

— What definitely looms as another intriguing question of this season is the impact of new defensive coordinator Dan Quinn. John Clayton says to expect Quinn to shake things up from the strategies of former DC Gus Bradley;

— Seahawks.com has a photo gallery of Russell Wilson’s passing academy over the weekend;

— Safety Kam Chancellor gave away bikes to kids in his hometown over the weekend;

— Pro Football Talk is running its own list of the top 100 players in the NFL, and has already unveiled players 26-100, which includes a handful of Seahawks;
