Browner gets raise for 2013 season

According to the NFL’s official transactions page, cornerback Brandon Browner signed a “renegotiated contract” with the team today.

The Seahawks confirmed tonight that Browner has received a raise for the 2013 season, but not an extension — he is entering the final year of his contract and is due to become an unrestricted free agent at the of the season.

He was due to make $550,000 this year having originally signed with the Seahawks as a free agent prior to the 2011 season.

As of last week, the Seahawks were reported to have $3.71 million in salary cap space for the 2013 season.

Browner was selected to the Pro Bowl following the 2011 season and has started all 28 regular-season games he has played for the Seahawks, helping to form the secondary’s self-named Legion of Boom.
