Brandon Browner’s raise, and a few other notes before calling it a Friday night. …
— NFL.com reports that Browner’s raise is $218,756, bringing his total salary to this season to $773,756. If you watched the video of Browner, he called the raise a “good gesture” but said otherwise he isn’t thinking much about this being his contract year. Browner’s gives the Seahawks roughly $3.4 million in available cap space for this season.
— It appeared to be a day when the defense got the better of the offense throughout (as also detailed here by Seahawks.com) with the vaunted secondary so far appearing in mid-season form. The pads going on this weekend, though, might alter things a little bit.
— No real surprise to see Cliff Avril working as the No. 1 LEO spot (or typically, the defensive end who lines up on the right side) — that’s what they signed him to do. Avril didn’t work there much during the OTAs and mini-camp due to a foot injury but said he today he feels.”I’m out here practicing pretty much good to go and it hasn’t really bothered me,” he said. “I’m doing my little rehab still but it’s nothing serious as of right now.”
— Here’s our story on Russell Okung’s adventure running with the bulls in Pamplona.
— Finally, SI.com’s Peter King visited practice today and said in a radio interview he thinks Percy Harvin and later Tweeted that Kam Chancellor played with a similar injury last season:
RENTON, Wash.–Point of non-hysterical reference for Harvinistas: Kam Chancellor played with same injury (tho not sure of severity) last yr.
