Seahawks waive/injured Greg Herd, sign WR Perez Ashford

The Seahawks made a roster move after practice today, waiving/injured Greg Herd, who hurt his shoulder in practice today, and claiming receiver Perez Ashford off waivers from New England.

Herd, a native of Tacoma, played at Eastern Washington and was an undrafted free agent.

Ashford played at Northern Illinois and was released by the Patriots on Wednesday having earlier been cut by the Browns.

Here is the bio on Ashford from the latter link:

“Ashford, 22, was signed by the Patriots on July 19, 2013. He was originally signed by the Cleveland Browns as a rookie free agent out of Northern Illinois on April 30, 2013, but was released by the Browns on May 30, 2013. The 5-foot-11, 182-pounder, played in 48 games during his four collegiate seasons and finished with 110 receptions for 1, 192 yards.”
