Sunday practice report: Carroll says Turbin set to return

The Seahawks wrapped up practice and perhaps the biggest news of the day came when coach Pete Carroll said RB Robert Turbin had been cleared by team doctors and would return to the Seahawks later in the day.

Turbin had missed all of training camp with a foot injury. In his place, rookie running back Christine Michael received most of the reps with the second team.

Carroll also said he is hopeful TE Zach Miller will return by the third preseason game and that Cliff Avril was making progress but likely wouldn’t be ready for Thursday’s preseason game against San Diego.

The media also met with new wide receiver Early Doucet for the first time. Doucet said he is just trying to fit in wherever he can with the Seahawks after being waived by Arizona. Carroll said one of the things he likes most about Doucet is the way former teammates talk about his toughness.

We’ll have more on the blog shortly.
