Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson spent his last year of college at Wisconsin.
But as he told reporters today, he has never been to a game at Green Bay — something that will change Friday when the Seahawks play the Packers at Lambeau Field — even though he had plans to go to one once.
“When I was at the University of Wisconsin I had an opportunity to go,” he said. “I got tickets and everything ready to go to the game, and we had practice for the Rose Bowl on a Saturday. The Packers played on Sunday, but we had a bad practice and coach (Bret) Bielema told us that ‘Hey we’re going to have practice tomorrow.’ And we had it right during the middle of the Packers game. But it’s going to be great. It’s a great stadium, obviously we’re playing a great football team. Obviously I have a lot of respect for them. I have a lot of respect for their fans too. It’s going to be a good game, and for us it’s a business trip. We have to be able to play our best football game come Friday.”
You can hear Wilson relay that story, as well as talk about last year’s win over Green Bay, and receiver Jermaine Kearse, in the video below:
