No sooner had I posted the morning links than an e-mailed arrived from Sports Illustrated touting this week’s NFL preview issue.
The magazine has four regional covers, including the one above of Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.
And as you can see, the magazine has high hopes for the Seahawks, picking them to make it to the Super Bowl before losing to the Patriots (and boy, just think of how many times ‘you mad, bro?’ will get brought up during the run-up to the game if that matchup occurs).
The pick is made by SI’s Peter King, who visited Seahawks camp earlier this year and ultimately has the Patriots beating the Seahawks 30-23 in the Super Bowl.
And as are many other national magazines, SI is highlighting the young quarterbacks who are lighting up the NFL, including Wilson, who is the subject of a feature inside that notes that Wilson has long compared himself to Drew Brees, another QB who overcame his lack of height to forge a successful career.
