A quick update to note that as of 12:40 p.m., the Seahawks have yet to officially announce any cuts.
That includes the reported releases of fullback Michael Robinson, which was confirmed by Robinson and several teammates via Twitter, and cornerback Antoine Winfield, for which there has been no such similar confirmation or Twitter chatter. The Winfield release has been reported by a few media sources, but again, not by the team.
Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, meanwhile, is also reporting that the Seahawks are cutting defensive end Jaye Howard.
Howard was the team’s fourth-round pick in 2012 out of Florida, and played in two games last season.
He was making a move to end this season, similar to that of Red Bryant. He got significant playing time in the final exhibition game against the Raiders and was creditd with four quarterback hurries.
Howard would have practice squad eligibility so even if cut this might not be the last of him in Seattle.
If he is released, it could be a sign that the team feels okay about the health of some of its other defensive linemen, notably Michael Bennett, who is listed ahead of Howard at the left defensive end spot.
There is also a report that the team has cut recently-acquired DT Sealver Siliga, whom the team picked up from Denver for John Moffitt.
With final cutdowns due at 3 p.m., we’ll know soon.
