The Seahawks have officially announced their eight-man practice squad. Here it is:
DT Michael Brooks
TE Cooper Helfet
LB Ty Powell
G Ryan Seymour
DB DeShawn Shead
DT Sealver Siliga
G Jared Smith
WR Bryan Walters
The most noteworthy thing there is the omission of Chris Harper, whom Seattle had hoped to add to the practice squad before he was signed by the 49ers this morning.
Three of the players on the list are 2013 draftees — Seymour, Smith and Powell, all taken in the seventh round.
Walters was an early camp sensation before suffering a hamstring injury, and will be close by to add depth at receiver and as a returner if needed.
Siliga was acquired in the trade for John Moffitt and impressed in his two games with the team.
Shead is on the practice squad for the second straight season, spending most of last season on it before being activated late in the year, without playing in any games.
Helfet was an undrafted rookie free agent signee in 2012 who was on the practice squad briefly last year.
Brooks was signed off waivers from Detroit in May.
