For our main Seahawks story for today, Jayson Jenks wrote about Walter Thurmond, pictured above against Oakland in a John Lok photo.
As Jenks details, Thurmond’s career to date has been derailed by injuries. But the Seahawks thought he was a first-round talent if he got healthy, and he finally has, and showed it in the preseason when he beat out Antoine Winfield for the nickelback job, compelling the Seahawks to make the somewhat surprising decision to cut Winfield.
Thurmond also figures to be in the mix for punt returning duties this season, listed No. 2 this week behind Golden Tate for that spot. So yes, expect to see a lot of Thurmond this season.
