I wrote earlier this week about what a hot ticket the Seahawks-49ers game is.
More evidence comes today in some numbers from SeatGeek.com.
The company reports:
— At an average ticket price of $360, this is far and away the most in-demand Seahawks home game we’ve ever tracked. Prices are 47 percent higher on average than for the Seahawks’ game against the Packers at CenturyLink Field last September, when the average seat sold for $245.
— This game is the most expensive sporting event we’ve ever seen in Washington. The only live event to draw greater demand in the state was this year’s Sasquatch! Festival in George, as four-day passes sold for over $500 on average.
— The 49ers’ visit to Seattle has bumped the average price for this game up 62 percent from the Seahawks’ season average of $222 per ticket. Interestingly enough, the 49ers have never held a regular season home game in San Francisco with an average ticket price as high as this weekend’s matchup in Seattle; the 49ers’ 2011 game against the Steelers at Candlestick Park comes closest at $310 per ticket.
— In terms of all regular season NFL games we’ve tracked since 2010, this game ranks 6th in terms of average ticket price, and no team west of the New Orleans Saints has hosted a game with this high an average ticket price.
— Tickets in the lower level closest to the field are selling for an average of $437 per ticket on the secondary market, and club seats are selling for an astounding $663 per ticket. Seats in the middle level can be had at an average of $394 per ticket, and it will still cost you an average of $276 per ticket even for upper level seats.
— Right now on SeatGeek, the least expensive ticket available is $200 in Section 302, but we have seen fans pay as much as $1,400 per ticket for club and lower level tickets.
