Seahawks re-sign DT McDonald

The Seahawks have re-signed veteran DT Clinton McDonald, according to his agent:

McDonald was initially acquired by the Seahawks in a trade with the Bengals prior to the 2011 season and played the last two years with the Seahawks.

He was released in the cutdown to 53, when his salary of $1.323 million would have been guaranteed. As explained here, he would now make at least $670,000 but likely less than what he would have had he been on the opening day roster.

Seattle has been continuing to search for depth on a defensive line that has had its share of injuries throughout camp. Rookie DT Jordan Hill remains out with a biceps injury and Brandon Mebane and Tony McDaniel  each missed one day of practice this week with groin injuries, though each is listed as probable for the game against the 49ers Sunday.

The Seahawks have not yet officially announced the move, or a corresponding move to clear a spot on the roster.
