Browner Tweets that he’s out tonight
No surprise given that he didn’t practice all week, but Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner has just Tweeted that he will not play tonight against the 49ers:
Browner hurt his hamstring the Wednesday prior to the opener against Carolina and has not practiced since.
Seattle coach Pete Carroll had said on Wednesday that Browner was expected to practice on Thursday in an attempt to get ready for the game.
But Browner was not able to practice and Carroll said on Friday he wasn’t able to recover enough to practice.
Without Browner, Walter Thurmond will again get the start and then will move inside in nickel situations with Byron Maxwell stepping in outside.
This will mark the sixth straight regular season game that Browner has missed, as he sat out the last four of 2012 due to a suspension for violating the NFL’s PED policy. That includes Seattle’s 42-13 win over the 49ers at CenturyLink last year (Browner returned to play in the two playoff games).
