The much-anticipated Seahawks-49ers game has been delayed because of weather at 6:05 p.m and with 3:13 left in the first quarter. Lightning could be seen outside of CenturyLink Field shortly before the game was stopped. The two teams are tied 0-0.
It was just announced in the press box that the game will resume at 7:05 p.m.
The game has lived up to its defensive billing in the first quarter. Russell Wilson and Colin Kaepernick have each been picked off once. The Seahawks have just 27 total yards — 32 rushing and minus-5 passing — and have picked up just two first downs. San Francisco’s defensive front has won the battle at the line of scrimmage so far.
The good news for Seattle? San Francisco’s offense hasn’t been much better. The 49ers have three first downs and 62 total yards. San Francisco had the game’s best scoring chance, but cornerback Walter Thurmond, who is filling in for the injured Brandon Browner, jumped in front of tight end Vernon Davis and popped the ball in the air. Earl Thomas intercepted the pass and returned it to the Seattle 12.
