As we reported earlier this week, Sunday night’s Seahawks vs. 49ers game was the latest to receive off-the-charts ratings in Seattle.
The game drew a 44.8 rating (the percentage of all households in the area tuned to the game) and 66 share (all TVs being watched at that time tuned to the game) in Seattle, the city’s best numbers ever for an NBC Sunday Night game.
The 13.6 rating and 24 share nationally were the highest for any West Coast night game on NBC since 1991.
Today comes news via SportsMediaWatch that the rating in Seattle was a local record for Sunday Night Football, which has been televised on NBC since 2006.
As you can read, the national ratings took a hit due to the one-hour delay due to lightning, which meant most of it aired after 10 p.m. on the East Coast.
But locally, it was just another sign of the unprecedented interest in the team right now.
