So, are you a little more nervous about Sunday’s game now with all of the uncertainty over the offensive line?
Those who look at the games solely through their wallets appear to be thinking that could be a big deal as the betting line has begun to move pretty swiftly toward the Texans in the past few days.
Here are some of the Vegas lines, courtesy of VegasInsider.com. Seattle began the week as a consensus three-point favorite.
But as you can see, Seattle is now no more than a 2.5-point favorite anywhere and the game is down to a pick ’em at one sports book.
No doubt, the matchup of Houston’s rugged pass rush against what could be a vastly re-shuffled Seattle O-line is ominous.
But there are still things I like about this matchup for Seattle — the way the defense has been turnover-happy and mostly impenetrable, Marshawn Lynch’s ability to take the game over and take the pressure off the pass game, and Seattle’s apparently superior special teams.
Matt Schaub’s status as Houston’s quarterback is being much-debated this week for a reason — he seems to be more prone than ever to the game-changing mistake.
So I’m thinking a key turnover or special teams play will allow Seattle to overcome its O-line issues and escape Houston with the win. I’m calling it 21-16.
