Seahawks officials have confirmed a Fox Sports report today that they are exploring adding 2,000-3,000 seats at CenturyLink Field for the 2014 season.
Here is the original report.
As it states, the seats would be added in the south end zone where the 12th Man flag is raised each week, and would bring capacity over 70,000.
Capacity is roughly 68,000 now (the team has drawn 68,338 and 68,087 to its two home games this season). The CLink is currently the 21st-largest of the 32 NFL stadiums.
The Seahawks have a waiting list of roughly 12,0000 for season tickets after selling out all 62,000 this year, which included a franchise record 98 percent renewal rate.
Remaining single-game tickets were also sold out within hours of going on sale in July.
