When the NFL made its weekly announcement of fines Friday, the Seahawks escaped free and clear for anything that happened on the field in Houston last week.
Running back Marshawn Lynch, it was revealed today by Pro Football Talk, was fined $5,250 for wearing green shoes, which was counter to the color of the shoes worn by the rest of the team (Seattle wore its wolf grey uniforms for the second time).
As the story notes, Lynch has been fined for this infraction before, so he obviously knows the rules but is willing to pay the fine to wear what he wants.
If you’re wondering what Lynch’s response to this is, you probably won’t hear it.
Lynch continues not to talk to reporters — he hasn’t since last season. An NFL columnist for the LA Times, Sam Farmer, tried this week, and you can read the result here as Lynch gave Farmer one sentence but otherwise stuck to his media boycott.
