Hawks add WR Lenz to practice squad

The Seahawks made another practice squad move today, adding receiver Josh Lenz, who played at Iowa State and was in camp with the Bears.

To make room, they put OL Jared Smith on the practice squad/injured list.

Lenz caught two passes and returned seven punts for 60 yards for the Bears during the preseason.

The 6-foot, 200-pounder caught 104 passes for 1,325 yards during his Iowa State career.

Seattle now has three WRs on its practice squad, with Bryan Walters and Arceto Clark being the others, providing some depth behind the four on the active roster (Sidney Rice, Golden Tate, Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse) after the release last weekend of Stephen Williams.

Lenz acknowledged his signing with Seattle via Instragram and Twitter a few hours ago:

Also today, the Bills today signed LB Ty Powell off the Giants’ practice squad. He was one of Seattle’s four seventh-round picks in 2013
