Six Seahawks lauded by Pro Football Focus

Indicative of how the Seahawks dominated Arizona Thursday night, six Seattle players were named to Pro Football Focus’ Team of the Week — three on first team and three others as honorable mention.

The three named to the first team were quarterback Russell Wilson, running back Marshawn Lynch and cornerback Richard Sherman.

Wrote PFF of Wilson:

Even with the fumbles there was no stopping Wilson who was exceptional at times despite facing an inordinate amount of pressure.

And of Lynch:

In breaking eight tackles Lynch entered “Beast Mode” on more than a few occasions. After a slow start to the year he’s really found his rhythm to overcome some line issues.

Named honorable mention were linebacker Malcolm Smith and safeties Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor.

The Arizona game was the second for Smith at weakside linebacker after he played the first five at strongside. Smith made the switch with the injury to middle linebacker Bobby Wagner forcing a shuffle of the LB spots.

Assuming Wagner makes it back this week, then K.J. Wright figures to move back to WLB and Smith back to SLB, where Bruce Irvin is now listed as the starter. Smith’s play against Arizona, though, shows that the coaches will likely keep trying to figure out ways to get him on the field, as well.
