For those who had wondered, as Seattle began the season with its best start in franchise history, if the team really needs Percy Harvin, you got your answer Monday night.
While Seattle’s biggest issue right now is its pass protection, there’s no doubt that a healthy Harvin would also help greatly, especially if Sidney Rice is out for any sustained length of time.
As was well-chronicled last week, Harvin returned to practice last Tuesday, then was limited the rest of the week. As you can read in the link, Pete Carroll said that was not necessarily unexpected and that the team was planning to have to ease Harvin back into action.
Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports, however, is reporting that Harvin’s hip “flared up” on Thursday and that that pumped the brakes on his return:
Mentioned on @FOXSportsLive Percy Harvin was on track to play vs STL until hip flared up Thurs. Pumped brakes. We'll see how he does this wk

Harvin made the trip to St. Louis and did some running on the field before the game.
The team is off today but Harvin’s availability and potential status for this week will no doubt be a story to watch as the team returns to practice on Wednesday.
