Afternoon notes: More on Lynch, including news on trial date

Here’s our Seahawks notebook for the Saturday paper, posted on-line a while ago, with news and notes from the VMAC today.

Included is the note that a motion to dismiss Marshawn Lynch’s DUI case was denied Friday in Alameda County District Court. The trial is scheduled for Dec. 27, two days before Seattle’s regular-season finale against St. Louis.

Lynch earlier pleaded not guilty to two charges from the arrest, which included driving while having a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher, and driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Lynch was not disciplined by the team for the arrest, and with the current timeline, it’s possible the case will not have a resolution until late into this season, or possibly until after the season. Any NFL discipline wouldn’t happen until after the legal process has run its course
