Seahawks sign Bates to practice squad, cut Lenz

Seattle made one personnel move today, re-signing receiver Phil Bates to the practice squad and releasing receiver Josh Lenz.

The 6-1, 220-pound Bates was on the Seattle roster from April, 2012 through training camp this year before being released.

A former college quarterback, he was also tried by Seattle at fullback during camp before being cut.

Bates had one catch for six yards for Seattle during the pre-season while also battling some nagging injuries.
