Quick hitters from Pete Carroll’s Monday press conference: Browner injury “pretty serious”

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll’s weekly Monday press conference has concluded — you can see some video of it below.

Here are some quick news and notes. …

— Carroll said the groin injury suffered by cornerback Brandon Browner is “pretty serious. We will know more later in the week here. He’s got a substantial groin issue here, we’ve got to figture it out.” Asked if the injury could be season-ending, Carroll said “we’ll find out. We’ll know in a few days here.”

— As for Percy Harvin, Carroll said that “if everything works out well he will practice Wednesday and start the process.”

— Asked what Harvin has to show them this week to be able to play Sunday, Carroll said: “He’s got to practice every day and show that all that he’s done in the rehab work has paid off and that he can sustain through each day. It’s really the next day that we look at, he makes this day and then how does he feel the next day? And we’ll just see how that goes. And it’s not a pressure decision. We are going to try to again really consider all the factors and make sure we are doing this right and making a real good choice as we get our information.”

— Carroll reiterated that OLs Russell Okung, Breno Giacomini and Max Unger are all on track to begin practicing Wednesday with the hope that they all can play Sunday.

— Carroll also said the hope is that Red Bryant can play this week.

— Carroll said OG J.R. Sweezy was simply “gassed out” when he missed a few plays in the game, needing to get some fluids at halftime, which made him late to the field for the second half.
