Saints win to set up showdown with Seahawks

Seattle fans were likely rooting for Atlanta tonight to beat the Saints.

New Orleans, though, got a 17-13 win.

And when they did, they set up what figures to be one of the most-anticipated games in Seahawks’ history on Dec. 2, when the Sainits comes to Seattle for a Monday night showdown.

New Orleans improved to 9-2 with the win, a game behind Seattle at 10-1 in the NFC.

And barring a collapse by the Seahawks, New Orleans looms as the only realistic threat left to Seattle and homefield advantage in the NFC (Seattle’s opening weekend win at Carolina looming ever larger in many regards).

Here’s the game story from The New Orleans Times-Picayune, with the subhead on the front page that the Saints won “setting up showdown vs. Seattle.”

Here’s a good overview of the win over the Falcons from the Times-Picayune’s Jeff Duncan.

And here’s lots of coverage from ESPN.com.
