Seahawks waive Cox, clear space to reactivate Thurmond

According to the NFL transactions report, the Seahawks have waived cornerback Perrish Cox.

No corresponding move has yet been announced, but Seattle will obviously soon return cornerback Walter Thurmond to the active 53-man roster.

Thurmond is eligible to return this week after being suspended the last four games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.

The waiving of Cox also means that for now, the Seahawks will keep WR Percy Harvin on the active roster.

Coach Pete Carroll had said earlier in the week, when asked if the team might soon make a roster move with Harvin, that “that may happen.”

But for now, the has obviously decided to keep Harvin around in case he gets healthy for the playoffs.

Seattle officially listed Harvin as out on its injury report for Sunday’s game against the Rams.
