Thursday links: Practice squad, assistant coach rumors, and more

For the Thursday paper, and with no specific game to write about this week, I took a look at at the team’s practice squad — what it is, how it works. Hope you’ll check it out.

In other news. …

— I will also be on the 12th Man Roundtable on KJR-AM this morning at 8, and then also will serve as a guest co-host with Jerry Brewer from 10 a.m.-noon. Hope you will check all of that out, too;

— On the Seahawk assistant coaching front, the Cleveland Plain-Dealer has the details that Dan Quinn reportedly interviewed Wednesday, but that the Browns may have some other coaches higher on their list, including some in the college ranks. As for Darrell Bevell, while it appears he has interviewed with the Redskins, Washington also reportedly has interviews set with several other NFL assistants, and it appears as if a decision is a week or so away. The Vikings also appear interested in both Bevell and Quinn but may not make a decision anytime soon;

Lovie Smith has been named head coach at Tampa Bay, so there’s one job Seahawks fans don’t have to worry about any longer;

— Seahawks license plates go on sale today;

—The Puget Sound Business Journal looks at some of Richard Sherman’s endorsement deals;
