Gameday links: Playoffs finally arrive

russelltakingfield

It’s finally (almost) here — Seattle’s first home playoff game since 2011 and only its second since 2007.

And the excitement in the city is pretty darn obvious — you couldn’t go anywhere Friday and not see Seahawk jerseys everywhere.

Here are a bunch of links to get you ready. …

Jerry Brewer writes the time is now for the Seahawks;

Larry Stone says the Seahawks and Saints are each feeding off fuel of the Spite Bowl from last month;

— Here is my preview;

— Here is a collection of a bunch of predictions;

— Seahawks fans are buying lots of merchandise;

— Seahawks.com offers a video playbook;

— Seahawks.com with five matchups to watch;

Michael Bennett among SI.com’s hidden gems;

Earl Thomas writes on his blog that he is embracing the moment;

— Here’s ESPN’s Double Coverage preview;

— The New York Daily News says the key matchup is NO’s offensive tackles vs. Seattle’s defensive ends.

Included in the above link is this quote from an unnamed scout:

“I think we’ll see a little different approach from the Saints this time. The Seahawks’ defense has one small weakness and that’s against the run, especially between the tackles. The Saints can test that with Mark Ingram and limit the effect of the crowd noise. They fell behind so early in the first game (17-0 before they ran nine plays), they had to abandon the run. The physicality of the Seahawks’ secondary just wears down your receivers. (Saints defensive coordinator) Rob Ryan loaded the box to contain Marshawn Lynch in the first game but Russell Wilson was able to take advantage of that.”

— The New York Daily News also offers this preview;

— USA Today offers a feature on Russell Wilson;

Peter King picks the Seahawks, 27-20;

— Lots of Saints coverage from NOLA.com;

— NOLA.com’s coverage includes this on the excitement in Seattle;

— Lots of thoughts on the Saints in an ESPN mailbag;

— Kansas City Star with a pretty exhaustive preview;

— Watch a live stream here;

— Finally, pretty cool Duracell ad featuring Derrick Coleman:
