Thursday night links: Special section, and some other stuff

cartoon

If it’s the Friday before a Seahawks playoff, then it must be time for another Seahawks’ special section in the Seattle Times.

And so it is — there’s the cover, above, which previews the cover story inside written by Jayson Jenks looking at the two QBs in the game — Russell Wilson and Colin Kaepernick.

There’s also just a whole bunch of other stuff inside, all of which you can find here.

Also in our paper Friday is this superb profile of Pete Carroll from Jenks.

And here’s our notebook for the Friday paper.

Now for a few other links. …

— 49ers cornerback Carlos Rogers is expected to play against the Seahawks;

— Great stuff from Grantland.com on why you should just celebrate the Seattle defense;

— The Wall Street Journal says the Seahawks’ secret edge is the taunt;

— USA Today got a one-on-one interview with Richard Sherman Thursday;

— Sherman also writes about Byron Maxwell in his latest Monday Morning QB column, in which he also says the Seahawks should “dominate” on their way to the Super Bowl;

— The Kansas City Star says this is now the best rivalry in the NFL;

— NFL.com with a good breakdown and a pick of Seattle, 20-17;

Jordan Hill profiled by his local paper;

Roddy White says the Seahawks are front-runners;

Sidney Rice told NFL.com that the Seahawks are an attractive right now for free agents;

— ESPN with lots of stats and numbers on the game;

— FoxSports talks to Perrish Cox, who played for both the Seahawks and 49ers this year, and is now with the 49ers. He claims neither team ever asked him anything about the other;

— Remember Sealver Siliga? He’s starting for the Patriots now;

— Good stuff from Pete Prisco breaking down some tendencies for each team;

Joe Montana thinks the 49ers will beat the Seahawks (but would you really expect him to say anything else?);

— All kinds of 49er coverage from the Mercury News;

— San Francisco Chronicle says turnovers are the key.
