I say maybe as a nod to the 1979 Sonics winning the NBA title. For the era, that was as big as it got. But that was an accumulation of games, and everything just feels bigger now, not to mention the overwhelming popularity of the NFL. There’s always a danger in thinking that’s what’s happening now is the biggest ever. But in this case, it also feels true.
