Super Bowl snap counts

Here they are, the snap counts for Seattle’s first Super Bowl win. Unlike other weeks, there’s no need to try to analyze them to see what happens in the future. But a few interesting things in here.
— First, there were 60 offensive snaps and 69 on defense.
— The five players to play every snap for Seattle were guard J.R. Sweezy, tackles Breno Giacomini and Russell Okung, safety Earl Thomas and cornerback Byron Maxwell.
Percy Harvin played 29 snaps, or 48 percent of the plays, his most all season — he had 19 in each of the other two games he played. He might have played more if he’d been needed.
Jermaine Kearse played 20 snaps, his total cut a bit with Harvin back. But that was a pretty darn productive 20 snaps as he was targeted five times, tying Doug Baldwin for the lead in that category, and making four catches for 65 yards and a touchdown.
— Undrafted rookie free agent Alvin Bailey played 16 snaps, a few at the end of the game when they took out other OLs. But most were in his role as an extra tackle/end, a set the Seahawks again used quite a bit.
K.J. Wright played 50 snaps as he was back to full duty for the first time since breaking his foot against the 49ers on Dec. 8. Wright played mostly at strongside linebacker, the spot he played last season, and usually in place of Bruce Irvin, who got just 17 snaps, mostly at defensive end. We’ll see what that means for the future for Irvin, who had been moved to SLB prior to the start of the season.
