Michael Bennett: “I can’t believe that many people came out and that many people got to miss work today.

And here is all that Seattle defensive end Michael Bennett had to say Wednesday following the parade:

(On the parade…) “It was amazing to have so many fans out there, a million plus people just out there cheering us on. It was just crazy. I can’t believe that many people came out and that many people got to miss work today.”

(On if he expected that many people to be at the parade…) “Yeah it was way more than I had expected. I thought there was going to be like 500,000, but a million, I’m like, ‘I can’t get any (cell phone) service today.’ So it’s just crazy out there right now.”

(On how much he wants to stay with the Seahawks since he is a free agent…) “I want to be back here 100 percent. I love the team, I love my teammates. I mean Pete [Carroll] does a great job of letting us play. So I want to be a part of that. I know we can go back and win the Super Bowl again with all of these guys, but it’s a business. But I definitely want to be back.”

(On if of the process of negotiating a contract has begun yet…) “I mean not yet. Usually during the season, you either get a contract before the season or you have to wait during the combine time. So of course it’d be during that time that I find out what’s going on.”

(On if it matters to him whether he plays on the same team as his brother Martellus in Chicago or not if he doesn’t get a contract…) “No that doesn’t matter much. I know he wants me to come out there and get a chance to play with him, but I’m definitely a Seahawk and I definitely want to be here for the rest of my career.”

(On if his brother was disappointed that they were not roommates when they went to Texas A&M together…) “I don’t know. I don’t remember that story. He made that up.”

(On the reception of the 12th Man fans in the stadium after the parade…) “I thought it was over. I mean, I didn’t know that there was going to be another 50,000 people in there. I just thought it was just crazy man. It was just amazing to just feel the 12th Man. I know if all of those guys could come to the game, maybe we would’ve had more false starts than we have now. I mean the fans were just crazy. So I’m just happy that we’ve got those kinds of fans.”

(On how he thinks that one year free agent contract gamble turned out for him…) “I mean I always bet on myself and believe in myself and my talents and being able to come here and get a chance to play with these guys, I knew it was going to be special. Playing with Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Brandon Mebane, I mean they are all the best at their position and getting a chance to play here was just special. I knew that we could be the best defense.  It was arguably the best defense already. Me and Cliff [Avril] just added another dimension to it.”

(On the funniest thing that he saw in the parade…) “I think the funniest thing I saw today was that there were a lot of kids doing Brandon Mebane’s dance on the side. A lot of women were asking us to dance and I was like, ‘Nope. My wife wouldn’t like that very much,’ and there were just a lot of people out there today.”

(On Marshawn Lynch’s drumming abilities…) “Yeah Marshawn has more than one talent. It was amazing.”

(On if he is in the hunt for a multi-year contract…) “I think any player in any sport wants a multi-year deal and of course, I’m going to be here and have multiple years playing with this team and Russell Wilson, this is only his second year. He already won the Super Bowl. I can only imagine what’s going to happen next and this is only [Richard] Sherman’s third year. Just a lot of guys here that could just play. Of course, I want to get all of free agents back, including Golden Tate, Doug Baldwin, all of those guys. You want to see all of those guys make plays and be here for the long haul.”
