NFL.com is reporting today that the Seahawks have also signed tight end Travis Beckum, who is also a Wisconsin grad.
#Seahawks GM John Scheider, Wisconsin native, signed 2 former Badgers to futures deals: LB Mike Taylor and TE Travis Beckum (former NYG 3rd)
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) February 10, 2014
Beckum was a third-round pick of the Giants in 2009 and played three seasons and parts of a fourth for New York, catching 26 passes for 264 yards (here’s his Pro Football Reference page).
He tore an ACL in the Giants’ Super Bowl win after the 2011 season, an injury that then landed him on the Injured Reserve list in 2012.
He was not on a roster in 2013.
Beckum just turned 27, and if healthy and back to the form he showed with the Giants, could contend for a roster spot.
