Report: Seferian-Jenkins has fractured foot UPDATED

A report from Tony Pauline of DraftInsider appears to shed further light on why Washington tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins did not run the 40 today at the NFL Combine:

Pauline further states that the injury could prevent Seferian-Jenkins from participating in UW’s Pro Day on April 2:

As noted in the earlier blog post on Seferian-Jenkins, he made no mention of any injury when speaking with reporters on Thursday, stating at the time he planned to run and jump in workouts today at the NFL Combine.

UPDATE

Rob Rang of CBSSports.com has more on Seferian-Jenkins’ foot issue, saying it was a pre-existing condition discovered in exams here.

You can also watch Seferian-Jenkins talk about the injury on an interview on the NFL Network here. However, he wasn’t pressed for specifics so he didn’t give any, so he doesn’t say exactly what the injury was or when it occurred.

“Everything is good,” he said. “I’m fine. Just happened that I didn’t get medically cleared for whatever issues and can’t compete today, and that’s unfortunate.’’
