As had been expected, Golden Tate — now officially a free agent — is testing the market.
Adam Schefter reports that Tate is on his way to visit with the Detroit Lions:
Seahawks WR Golden Tate is visiting Detroit tonight.

Tate wouldn’t be the No. 1 WR there with Calvin Johnson in the fold. But he could fill the void created when the Lions recently cut former Seahawk Nate Burleson.
The Seahawks have indicated they would like Tate back. But indications are also that they want to see what the market is for receivers. And Tate, as well, wants to take a look around. The first stop is apparently Detroit.
