Monday night links: Clark, Britt sign elsewhere

Two other free agents who had been linked to Seattle at some point during the last few weeks — safety Ryan Clark and receiver Kenny Britt — signed with other teams today.

Clark, most recently of the Steelers, confirmed on his own Twitter account that he visited Seattle last week.  But today he signed with the team with which he had gotten his first visit, the Washington Redskins.

Clark is 34 and would have been ticked for a backup role with the Seahawks, but will get a chance to start with the Redskins, undoubtedly a factor in his decision to sign with Washington.

Seattle, meanwhile, had been reported to be interested in Britt, a 2009 first-round pick who has struggled to live up to that billing but whom teams think might perform better in new surroundings. But those new digs won’t be in Seattle has he signed today with the Rams.

That means Seattle remains having signed just three free agents not of their own — WR Taylor Price, CB Phillip Adams and OL Stephen Schilling.

The Adams’ signing appears to be reflected in the updated salary cap numbers from the NFLPA, which show the Seahawks with $14.9 million remaining.

ALSO TODAY. …

— The Seahawks will reportedly work out Indiana WR Cody Latimer. Latimer looms as more of a day three pick, but his size (6-3, 215) will be intriguing;

— Nice story here on Derrick Coleman helping out a 7-year-old deaf Oregon boy.
