Poll: Does it bother you that Russell Wilson will throw out first pitch for Rangers Wednesday?

As you have probably heard, Russell Wilson is scheduled to throw out the first pitch on Wednesday for the Texas Rangers, the team that last year selected him in the Rule 5 Draft.

Since the announcement, I’ve seen some social media chatter that this bothers some Seattle fans, who apparently figure he should be doing this for the Mariners if he does it for anybody (though recall that he did throw out the first pitch at a Mariners game last summer).

I have to admit, I think this is something I think I’d barely give a second glance to if I were a fan. But I’m also a little older and obviously in the media, where the thought processes may be a little different.

I lived in Los Angeles when Bo Jackson was playing for both the Raiders and the Kansas City Royals, and I don’t remember anyone thinking anything of it, even though Kansas City was traditionally one of the Raiders’ biggest rivals (though admittedly that rivalry was more of an Oakland-KC thing historically).

But times, and attitudes, have changed, and maybe this is a big deal to people to see Wilson represent a team that is a rival of another Seattle team — even if in a different sport:
